Shielded from the public eye, the drastic changes continue.

The drastic changes continue at our new Baker street location. Early this morning the crew tore into the face of the building. The entire storefront was removed to make way for a thorough upgrade. The inside is also progressing nicely with the completion of the in-floor heating system and shiny new concrete slab.

Well the cat is out of the bag, Big Cranium’s new location has been finalized. We will make our new home at 273 Baker Street which for more than 50 years was the location of Nelson Woodworking Co. The building is now undergoing an extreme makeover that began at the beginning of February with the removal of everything on the inside, including the walls and floor right down to the dirt. New supports have been put in to stabilize the building as well as completely new electrical and plumbing. To bring things up to date a fully wheelchair accessible washroom and energy efficient, in floor heating system are being installed. The exterior will also get some attention with the front of the building being restored and painted with new colours. Finally, new signage designed to accent the building’s historic character will be created to bring the new shop to life. In the end we will have more space to work in and a convenient downtown location to better serve our customers. The interior is expected to be complete by the end of March and we will be opening the doors for business in April. Until then you can still find us at our Hall Street location. Thanks to contractors, Kris Beattie and crew and Pete Gosney and crew, for all their hard work. Check back for info on our grand opening.
